Have you seen the Saint Louis Planter lately? Gateway Greening has done it again with their 2012 Summer Seasonal Color Theme, Victorian Delight. In the center, playing the role of the “Thrillers” are Canna ‘Tropical Bronze Scarlet’ and Zinnia ‘Zowie.’ They’re the tall, spikey, red attention grabbers. The “Fillers” consist of Alternanthera ‘Brazilian Red Hots’, Coleus ‘Henna’, Lantana Camara ‘New Gold’, Zinnia ‘Zahara Fire’ and Zinnia ‘Zahara Yellow.’ Then on the outer border of the planter are the “Spillers,” Scaevola, Solanum Jasminoides ‘Variegata’ and Tradescantia Pallida ‘Purple Heart.’ Can you recognize them all? We’re excited to have the planter looking gorgeous as we gear up for our summer season and are especially pleased to be hosting the Gateway Greening event for the third year in a row this coming September.

We were honored to host Dance St. Louis last month for their annual Ballet Ball fundraiser where they raised nearly $200,000. This is the most money they’ve netted since executive director emeritus Sally Brayley Bliss’ farewell gala in 2006. Deb Peterson from STLtoday.com had this to say about the event:
“Some 275 arts enthusiasts were on hand, dancing to the sounds of Arvel and Company. The crowd enjoyed a special dance performance by students from the Central Visual & Performing Arts High School, which was dedicated to the evening’s honorees, Marsha and Bill Rusnack. The Rusnacks’ daughter, Dr. Susan Rusnack, a surgeon in NYC, was on hand for the occasion with her husband, Andrei Duman. Michael Uthoff, executive and artistic director of Dance St. Louis, was also joined by an out-of-town guest, his daughter Michelle Uthoff, who was in from Denver…”

“Maggie and staff, we just wanted to express how much we truly appreciate everyone at the Palladium – our wedding was absolutely PERFECT! The service, food & atmosphere were incredible and we couldn’t have asked for anything better! Everyone truly helped to make our night so special and we can’t thank you more! Maggie, thank you so much for answering my countless emails and questions – you were fabulous and I couldn’t have done it without you! You helped make our dream into a reality and we are forever grateful! I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Palladium and everyone there – thank you again for a perfect and memorable night for both us and our guests!”
“All I’ve heard from everyone was ‘What a great event’ it was and ‘How much they enjoyed it!’ It was definitely a successful event!”
“Our main contact was Maggie Eichwald who was professional and always prompt in answering questions whether by e-mails, phone calls or in person. She was always accommodating and seemed at ease working with our staff and committee.
This venue is first-class and the food was beautiful as well as tasty!
We had a great experience at The Palladium and are appreciative to the owners, managers and everyone for accommodating us.”
”We could not have chosen a better venue for our wedding than the Palladium! We had ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all at the venue and the set-up was perfect for us and our guests. The upgrades that are included (linens, chairs, lighting, etc.) made life so much easier for us than having to rent those items out. The service and food was impeccable – our guests could not stop raving about every aspect! Maggie was extremely helpful and fabulous in every way! Even being extremely particular and a semi-control freak, she showed me so much knowledge and attention to detail, and it was great to be able to have so much confidence in her to take some stress away from myself. I could not say enough great things about the Palladium – no bride and groom can be disappointed having their wedding there! We had the most amazing day and cannot thank the Palladium, Maggie and staff for all they did for us to make it happen!”

Having a climbing gym right next door wasn’t in the original plans, but we’re excited it is now…
“Is St. Louis ready for one of the tallest bouldering walls in the nation? Or a banquet facility where attendees can watch rock climbers scale a 55-foot wall? Or a corporate party that includes rock climbing? Ready or not, Climb So iLL will be opening in the historic City Hospital Power Plant in mid-March.
Ian Anderson, who co-owns Climb So iLL with brothers Dave and Dan Chancellor and taught the bouldering classes I took at SLU, gave me a tour of the one-of-a-kind space that not only includes several rock climbing walls and a bouldering wall, but also a 24-hour fitness center, two restaurant spaces and a banquet area…”

“The food was exceptional and we received many many compliments. The ambiance was perfect for our daughter and her husband – again received many comments about the unique mixture of history and modern style, all done with great class. The staff was friendly and helpful. When Melody left for the evening she told me and then pointed out the captain who would be replacing her should anything arise. This was a perfect celebration and none of us (the bride/groom/parents) could have been more pleased. I would be very happy to recommend this venue to family and friends. ”

Palladium Saint Louis is proud to be associated with Team Cfx!!!
Mayor Francis G. Slay presented the Mayor’s Spirit of St. Louis Award to Cfx ad agency and Marian Middle School today in recognition of their revitalization of the former Holy Family Catholic church and school.
Founded in 1898, Holy Family parish was closed by the Archdiocese of St. Louis in 2005. In March 2006, Cfx owners Chris and Megan Frank purchased the former church located at 3221 Oak Hill Ave. in the Tower Grove neighborhood and relocated their company from Rock Hill. The entire church from altar to choir loft now serves as state-of-the-art creative office space for the full-service advertising agency.
Headed by President Maureen A Herrmann, Marian Middle School – a Catholic middle school serving approximately 70 economically disadvantaged girls to advance them to college prep high schools and beyond – upgraded the adjacent former parish school into a wireless learning environment with a culinary arts center and other programs serving the girls and their families.
The Mayor’s Spirit of St. Louis Award recognizes businesses that make major expansions or improvements to their existing locatiuons, open or relocate to the City, and certain major City projects. The Spirit Award program is administered by the St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC), the economic development agency for the City of St. Louis.

In today’s world we tend to rely on technology above all else. Unfortunately, technology is not always foolproof!
As of late, there has been some issue with entering Palladium Saint Louis into personal GPS gadgets.
PLEASE NOTE: the mapping agency powering Garmin devices uses the wrong address for Palladium. They are currently using 1400 Park AVENUE, St. Louis METRO AREA 63104.
We are working diligently to get this corrected to: 1400 Park PLACE, St. Louis MO 63104.
As always, you can refer to our website for detailed directions + maps.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may be causing and we appreciate your patience while we work to set this straight.
