“From the minute we walked in the front door of The Palladium, we just knew this was going to be a special place, we just didn’t know how special! We were in the process of planning our daughter’s wedding. The space is spectacular and the evening of the reception, as guests entered, they just stood in amazement as to how beautiful everything was. The food was delicious (not what one typically gets at wedding receptions). The service was like a perfectly orchestrated piece of music. I would compare the service to that of being at a five star restaurant. We had approximately 200+ guests and people sought us out to tell us how impressed they were with everything. The shining star in the planning of this event was Maggie. She worked with us from start to finish. “Sometimes” planning a wedding can be stressful—she removed the stress. Whatever we needed, we asked and she took care of our every wish. There aren’t enough adjectives to describe just how wonderful it was to work with her. She actually made it fun. She is quite an asset to their operation. The entire event was what dreams are made of, and we are so very happy that this dream came true, thanks to Maggie and the entire staff. We have recommended The Palladium to friends and family, and will continue to do so.”
“The Palladium is a phenomenal place to have your wedding and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Shortly after I was engaged, my mom and I started scoping out places in STL and we were immediately overwhelmed at the prospect of planning my wedding. From the moment we met her, Maggie put us both at ease and assured us she would help us manage all the moving parts. The end result was incredible and even better than I had imagined. I had my wedding at the Palladium over labor day weekend and it ended up pouring down rain. “Maggie Eichwald coordinated our wedding reception needs perfectly with those of her employer. She assisted us whenever we asked, and worked to solve every problem/issue for us in a positive manner. The wait staff was beyond courteous. They were very professional and very helpful in solving any issues or problems that occurred during our event set-up and during the evening, whether expected or not. The food served was better than at any fine restaurant, and our guests pointed that out to us throughout the evening. The venue itself was a fantastic “space” that we could decorate to host a truly unique wedding reception. The finished room far exceeded anything we could have created in a hotel ballroom, and our guests expressed their compliments on the decor all night long. The Palladium was an elegant locale for an evening that our family will treasure forever. “Palladium was the perfect modern venue for our wedding. The uplights, the sleek chairs, the grey/silvery linens, etc. were the perfect backdrop for our wedding. Above all, Maggie was amazing to work with the whole time! I had countless amounts of questions and she answered them all without complaints. We had our ceremony on the front lawn of the venue and Maggie helped us all get down the aisle. They had some landscaping done right before the wedding so everything looked beautiful! We were able to drop stuff off at the venue ahead of time and pick the stuff up the week after so it really helped with our day-of timeline. The food is amazing as well! Many of our guests have said it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Between the presentation and the taste, it was an absolutely amazing meal!”

Have you seen the Saint Louis Planter lately? Gateway Greening has done it again with their 2012 Summer Seasonal Color Theme, Victorian Delight. In the center, playing the role of the “Thrillers” are Canna ‘Tropical Bronze Scarlet’ and Zinnia ‘Zowie.’ They’re the tall, spikey, red attention grabbers. The “Fillers” consist of Alternanthera ‘Brazilian Red Hots’, Coleus ‘Henna’, Lantana Camara ‘New Gold’, Zinnia ‘Zahara Fire’ and Zinnia ‘Zahara Yellow.’ Then on the outer border of the planter are the “Spillers,” Scaevola, Solanum Jasminoides ‘Variegata’ and Tradescantia Pallida ‘Purple Heart.’ Can you recognize them all? We’re excited to have the planter looking gorgeous as we gear up for our summer season and are especially pleased to be hosting the Gateway Greening event for the third year in a row this coming September.

We were honored to host Dance St. Louis last month for their annual Ballet Ball fundraiser where they raised nearly $200,000. This is the most money they’ve netted since executive director emeritus Sally Brayley Bliss’ farewell gala in 2006. Deb Peterson from STLtoday.com had this to say about the event:

The crowd enjoyed a special dance performance by students from the Central Visual & Performing Arts High School, which was dedicated to the evening’s honorees, Marsha and Bill Rusnack. The Rusnacks’ daughter, Dr. Susan Rusnack, a surgeon in NYC, was on hand for the occasion with her husband, Andrei Duman. Michael Uthoff, executive and artistic director of Dance St. Louis, was also joined by an out-of-town guest, his daughter Michelle Uthoff, who was in from Denver…”

The funds we raise are critical to the success of the Gateway to Hope Program. Since inception in 2005, we have arranged care and treatment for more than 260 breast cancer patients who are uninsured and do not qualify for government funded programs. I just wanted to drop you a quick note thanking you for everything last night. We haven’t had our official de-briefing, but everything I heard and saw last night was absolutely positive.
Everyone was very impressed with the space. A lot of people there last night haven’t been to the Palladium before, so this was their first time. One person commented to me that he thought this event appeared more upscale than anything VCR has done in the past.
The only glitch from the facility standpoint was when the AV person let out video sound when someone was speaking. Otherwise, the AV went smoothly. The food and facilities all were good. The facility definitely has a ‘coolness’ factor.
Throughout the project, you’ve been a pleasure to work with! Hopefully we will have the opportunity again soon.

“These are just a few of the comments I heard from our guests at Maggie and Chris’ wedding Friday night. Everything was perfect….down to the smallest detail. We can’t thank you enough for all your efforts in making this such a special evening for our family & friends. When I pulled up to the Palladium and saw the pink lights highlighting the building, I just knew it was going to be wonderful night!
The decorations, the lighting, the FOOD (yum!!!!), the sound….it was just perfect. People at work today have asked, “How did it go?”, and I’ve responded, “It was all that we could have wished for and MORE!”
Maggie, I am in awe of your organizational and managerial skills. I don’t know how you managed to pay attention to all those different pieces and pull it all together seamlessly, but we are all very, very impressed. If I didn’t know better I would say you even arranged for the beautiful weather! Also, thanks for helping me get the fireworks organized—it’s because of you that Maggie & Chris’ evening was magical! I can’t believe you remembered about the “to-go” food package for Maggie & Chris. I handed it to them right before they left in the getaway car—I thought Chris was going to dig in right there! He said, “Oh wow! I just realized I’m so hungry!” (He’s always hungry! Ha!)
I also want to give a special shout-out to all the Palladium personnel who took such good care of all of us throughout the evening. Many, many, many guests commented on the attentiveness of the staff and how they were so helpful and friendly. I couldn’t even count how many servers, etc. there were—they just appeared every time I even thought about something. I especially appreciate all the attention they gave to the bridal party—helping to get them drinks, etc. I would like to make sure they get a tip to let them know how much we appreciate all their effort. How can I make that happen?

“Palladium was a fantastic place to have our wedding. From the moment we walked in, we knew that was where we wanted to get married. The space is beautiful and modern, which gives you a lot of room to be creative and add your personal touches. The sound and lighting systems were fantastic. The table settings (stemware and glassware), linens, and chairs were also great. The girls were extremely friendly and organized, and so hardworking! I couldn’t have asked for a better rep than Bridget. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a lot of variety to choose from, and it all tasted great. We got a lot of comments on how delicious the food was. In addition to that, the house wine is Alamos – our favorite! We love Alamos Malbec and Chardonnay, so that was a real plus. Everything from the space and design, to the food and details, to the service of the night was wonderful. I would highly recommend Palladium to all future brides!”

- service at the wedding was impeccable. The staff was professional, polite and very available to anyone who needed anything. And they worked their butts off all night. Very impressive and appreciative. I received multiple comments from my guests about how great the service was. I noticed that they also paid special attention to Justin and I and our entire bridal party. It was that little extra that made all the difference. One of the staff members overheard me say that I needed some water (I was talking to a guest) and next thing I know, the staff member had water for me. Extremely nice.
- you already know how great the Palladium is but again, I received TONS of compliments on what an awesome venue it is. I obviously agree!
- And the food….still receiving compliments on how delicious the food was. I literally didn’t hear ONE complaint about the dinner. People are always so particular about the food and people loved every bite.

Butler’s Pantry was recently selected as one of 25 finalists from across the nation for the Achievement in Catering Excellence Award sponsored by Catersource Magazine. As 1of 5 companies chosen to represent the Midwest Region we are honored. The winner will be announced at a ceremony for 3,000 plus attendees in Las Vegas in early March.
